Taking model-informed precision dosing one step farther

We’re proud to announce our latest feature, DoseAssist! DoseAssist is designed to improve clinician efficiency by displaying dosing regimens most likely to get patients to PK/PD targets quickly.

Model-informed precision dosing (MIPD) greatly simplifies the process of accurately estimating PK/PD targets. But we found that our users spend a lot of time repetitively entering different regimens to see which ones get patients to the right target. To eliminate this inefficient trial-and-error process, we developed DoseAssist.

Available exclusively in InsightRX Nova, DoseAssist automatically simulates and displays regimens predicted to be most likely to achieve desired PK/PD targets.

The first and only precision dosing system to suggest regimens predicted to meet pharmacokinetic targets

Starting with InsightRX Nova v1.23, DoseAssist is available for vancomycin and busulfan drug modules. DoseAssist will be made available for additional drug modules in future releases.

In the InsightRX vancomycin (adult) drug module, DoseAssist shows:

  • The previous regimen (if applicable)
  • Up to 4 additional regimens predicted to be most likely to achieve:
    • Steady-state AUC24 of 400-600 mg*h/L and,
    • Steady-state trough of 10-20 mg/L
  • DoseAssist regimens ranked by Clinician Preference Score

In vancomycin (pediatric and neonate) and busulfan drug modules, DoseAssist shows:

  • For initial regimens:
    • Dosing regimen predicted to be most likely to achieve the defined PK target, using a user-selected dosing interval
  • For post-TDM regimens:
    • Dosing regimen predicted to be most likely to achieve the defined PK target, using the previous regimen’s dosing interval
  • 2 regimens using the selected/previous dosing interval and the next 2 higher dose increments
  • 2 regimens using the selected/previous dosing interval and the next 2 lower dose increments

InsightRX assigns a Clinician Preference Score to all dosing regimens composed of the most commonly used doses and dosing intervals for a given drug. The Clinician Preference Score was developed by clinical pharmacists and accounts for ease of compounding, logistical convenience, and conventional practice for a given drug.
