Webinar recap
This webinar introduced Apollo Gold, a new tier of the Apollo analytics platform, and walked through how health systems can use their own metrics to guide performance improvement after going live with model-informed precision dosing.
Apollo Gold built on the Silver tier’s real-time dashboards with two additions: an exploratory dashboard showing how pharmacokinetic models perform on an organization’s own patients, and an administrator dashboard reporting treatment courses, target attainment, and AKI rates by individual user or team. Gold became available on April 23, 2024, with advanced benchmarking and an LLM-based “chat-to-plot” feature planned for later that year.
The InsightRX team then followed a health system through its first year on InsightRX. In the first three months, operational metrics showed adoption, and showed vancomycin levels shifting to routine morning labs once Bayesian dosing made levels interpretable at any point in the interval. At six months, AKI rates were low, but only 38% of adult treatment courses reached an AUC of 400 to 600 mg·h/L.
The fix came from the models. An InsightRX analysis of roughly 168,000 adult vancomycin courses had found the modified Thomson model more accurate and less biased than the modified Goti model for patients with a BMI under 40; the Goti model tended to overestimate exposure, leading to more conservative doses. After confirming the same pattern in its own data in Apollo, the health system switched defaults, and target attainment rose to 57% within three months, a relative increase of 53%, while AKI rates stayed near 2%. Organizations of several types and sizes that made the same switch saw relative gains ranging from about 8% to 48%.
